New Year Goals
2018 and we are already 15 days into the year. Many of us will have promised ourselves or others that we are going to make changes to ourselves or behaviour. We proceed with setting our selves goals for the weeks ahead. Often we set the bar to high which results in us not realising our goals. So the old saying goes that we are setting ourselves up for failure.

Questions to ask yourself regarding the changes?

1. Who am I making these changes for? Me or another?
2. What is the benefit for me to change?
3. What is the benefit of me keeping the old behaviour?

If you are making changes setting goals for yourself then often the goals and targets set will be achievable.

However If we feel we are making these changes to please another or to gain acceptance, to belong with others then your core self is not always aligned with this decision and may not be committed to these changes. This is why sometimes we unconsciously set our selves up to fail. From the outside we are saying look how hard I am trying for you.

Internally we may not be ready to make the changes and the old behaviour holds on tight.
